THE SURGERY - HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The Federation Heritage home which is now the Coogee Medical Centre was built in the late 1800s by an owner builder and was called "Nailsworth". All the existing leadlight windows and marble fireplaces were transported by ship from England. It was sold to Dr Thompson some years later and has remained a Medical Surgery since that time.
In 1999 the rear of the building was rebuilt and the original building restored to create an attractive reception area blending the modern with the traditional. Coogee Medical Centre is a unique medical environment enjoyed by both staff and patients.
