Theatre of Image is associated with Australia's innovative Macquarie University through a partnership grant from the Australia Council, enabling our company to produce shows that incorporate images created using

computer technology and the university's film and video production facilities.
The Institute of Early Childhood
Theatre of Image is also associated with Australia's leader in Early Childhood Studies and Education, Macquarie University's Institute of Early Childhood. As well as being the host to our Creative Workshops for children, the institute also acts as a social and research barometer in determining possible areas of interest and direction the company may take within the community.

The Artistic Vision
Artistic Director, Kim Carpenter, one of Australia's leading visual theatre artists, founded Theatre of Image in late 1988, having established an outstanding reputation for producing distinctive visual theatre. A graduate of both the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney, (where he is a member of the Board of Studies) and the English National Opera School of Design, London, Kim is a Churchill Fellow (1990),

has served as a Co-Artistic Director of Nimrod Theatre, Sydney and was a recipient of the Loudon Sainthill Scholarship in 1982.
