Apparently Escape the Fate are a post-hardcore band. If ‘post hardcore' means rock with some punk influences thrown in then yeah, they're ‘post hardcore'. No argument from us. Whatever you want to call their music, the group have certainly got their look down. They're like Motley Crew updated for 2008 - all black jeans, leather jackets, make-up and pouty lips. And hey, if their MySpace is any indication, they have a pretty serious online following. After all, how many other bands out there have over 700 comments for one photo? None, that's how many.
Escape the Fate got their big break in 2005 when they won a radio contest judged by My Chemical Romance. That led to a supporting slot on the band's tour, a record deal with Epitaph and then a stint on the Warped Festival line-up. The debut album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, was released in 2006 and the band descended into street fighting, drugs and police hell shortly afterwards. Well, lead singer Ronnie Radke did anyway - until he was kicked out of the band and thrown in jail.
The group has since drafted in a new singer and are working on their follow-up album. It's due for release later this year and is being preceded by an international tour. Expect lots of female fans.
