With over eight years under its belt, Malabar's original restaurant in Darlinghurst serves up some of the city's finest South Indian fare, with the focus firmly on authenticity without being afraid to mix things up with modern influences. A huge black and white photograph dominates one wall, with a flashback to colonial days. If your not au fait with the Malabar region's finest, fear not, because the menu's are comprehensive and the knowledgeable staff are keen to help. Those on a budget will be pleased to know that BYO wine is fine and dandy too.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Specials from the 'spice triange' in South India. Excellent seafood. Spinach with lamb and eggplant/potato dish delightful. Great wine list and knowledgeable owner, patron and cook.
