Beach Road's clientele know that luxury is best when it's understated; guests include women wearing cream hats, men in linen suits, and a few tables full of people in scrappy beach apparel and thongs. It is a beautiful yet casual restaurant, and the high price point is accounted for by the excellent service and million dollar location. Beach Road won Best Entertainment Restaurant in the Restaurant and Catering Awards 2006, and after dining here with a party of 12, I can attest to the efficiency of the staff, the timing of the dishes, and the faultless presentation of the food. All this without a hint of pretension; certainly refreshing in the world of Sydney dining.For an entree the tour delice is an elegant salad of sweet crystal bay prawns, cucumbers and macadamias. The main courses feature the best produce of each season, the lightly smoked ocean trout with lobster mash is more decadent and delightful than you could imagine. Although the dishes might be fancy, the unfussy feel of the restaurant extends to the children's menu that gives kids the option to create their own pizza. Take an excursion into luxury beachside living and brunch at Beach Road on a sunny weekend or come for lunch or dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
