Editorial Review
Supernatural follows brothers Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki), who scour America investigating paranormal events and unexplained phenomena. They often find themselves fighting supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, demons and ghosts.
In this pivotal instalment, Dean is transported back in time by angel Castiel (Misha Collins) with an ambiguous and confusing set of instructions. Upon waking in the year 1973, Dean shakes himself off and comes to meet his parents when they first fall in love. Using his knowledge of the future Dean attempts to recreate history, yet his grandfather is later shown to be hiding a sinister secret.
Ackles has a tendency to over act. That said, starring as Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives goes a long way in answering his tendencies. Moreover, is his raspy character voice a poor effort to channel John Black, played by Drake Hogestyn?
Anyhow, this instalment is likely to set fans' hearts racing as viewers are finally treated to some background history. It also ends with a cliffhanger not unworthy of a series finale. Provided you can digest the sci-fi genre and its implausibility, you're likely to appreciate Supernatural.
Supernatural airs on Network Ten on Monday, October 13, at 9:30pm.
